Ladies, today, we have a very different book boyfriend for you. My Day 17 is a rock star. And not just any rock star; a freakin BAD ASS MUTHA F’IN ROCKSTAR. There is nobody that will come close to him. My Day 17 belongs to…….
Where do I even start with Rax….How to sell him…Well let’s see, he’s bad freaking ass!!!! Has a dirty mouth, drinks, is rude, doesn’t give a flying fudge about Tom, Dick or Harry. Well maybe dick. Totally HOT. Loves strippers…loves banging woman, (and men). YES, fuck it!!! I don’t care…Rax muther fucking Wrathbone goes both ways, and I don’t give a crap! He will melt you in a matter of seconds. You can’t help but just do what he tells you to do. He’s sex on a stick.
He has such a dirty mouth, and that dirty mouth gets him into trouble. We are not talking Hearts and flowers here kids. WE are talking RAX. He’s in a league of his own! You want a piece of Rax, or what we like to call, “getting Rax’ed”. Yeah I wanna GET RAX’ed!!! HOLLA!!!
Rax wow’ed me in Strings, totally pissed me the hell off in Beats and rocked my mutha f’in world in Nocturnes.
What’s great about Rax is that you can get all of him in every book in Kendall Grey’s series; starting with Strings, then Beats, and finally Rax gets his own book in the last of the series Nocturnes. I could NOT wait to read this. The second it was published I downloaded and read and read and read. Check out my review below on Nocturnes by Kendall Grey.
Rax Wrathbone is the dirty rock star you love to hate. The filthy fantasy slithering through your bed sheets. The serpent in your lady garden. The snake bite in your panties that keeps you sweating all night. He. Is. Sex.
And he’s no good. For anyone.
After a nasty breakup with his best friend and their band’s drummer, Rax is flying solo for the first time in years. Who needs the drama of commitment when the line for your humping booth spans three city blocks? No, groupies and liquor are far finer company than relationships, and they don’t leave bruises after they’ve had their way with you. At least not lasting ones.
Rax’s new adventures as an alcoholic, guitar-slashing one-man show are going along swimmingly until the only woman who’s ever brought him to his knees shimmies down a pole back into his life. Eve doesn’t abide excessive drinking, she has sex with strangers for a living, and she can’t remember Rax’s name to save her life.
She’s perfect in every way.
Now, if he could just get sober long enough to forget his past and convince Eve he’s worthy of her future…
NOCTURNES contains 511 F-bombs, 81 well-endowed male chickens, 65 girl kitties, 58 Richard the Lessers, 10 C-U-Next-Tuesdays, and a plethora of other colorful words and phrases that would deafen your virginal mother’s ears and make her bust out her “Shame on you!” finger. If you’ve been tuned in since the beginning of the Hard Rock Harlots series, you know the drill. The sex is extreme, the language is graphic, and the story is over the top. Prudes and under 18s need not apply.
WARNING: NOCTURNES addresses serious topics such as alcoholism, prostitution, and cheating. If you’re looking for a barrel of laughs or sunshine and rainbows, this is NOT the book for you.
All the more reason to read this book! I mean what kinda of disclaimer is that!! Talk about drawing you in. That draws me in. And maybe this book isn’t for everybody, but why the heck not try it out and see what the fuss if all about? Kendall Grey doesn’t just write some funny shit and great dirty sex. No, Kendall Grey is so talented. Her writing is fresh and imaginative, descriptive and balls to the walls. This series is one that everybody needs to experience.
We start off with Rax. He’s a guitarist in a band called Killer Buzz Float. They rock the freak out!! His band has a great connection, they are all crazy mothers. Everybody is inappropriate which I love. Nobody follows the rules, and they all have casual sex with each other. Which really works to some of their advantages, and for others not so much. For Rax, crash and burn. He lost his best friend/lover Toombs to Jinx. Toombs is also a guy. Jinx is the female drummer. Yep, its that crazy folks.
We are so used to seeing Rax, this confident, crazy rocker, banging woman likes its nobody’s business. Now, he’s miserable, depressed. drinking himself into a hole, all because he lost out on Toombs; his lies didn’t help. He’s got a lot of shit going on in that crazy head of his.
So what better then to go to a strip club and drink his pain away. Rax has a terrible drinking problem and he doesn’t give two craps if his band hates him, is depending on him. Who cares!!!! He’s RAX Wrathbone. He can do what he wants.
While Rax is at the Nocturnes Strip bar who does he run into while she’s stripping…Lola (aka Eve). Which ever name she is going by these days. Rax was obsessed with her months back when she worked in a different town. Now she’s directly in his path. Doesn’t help that she’s absolutely the most gorgeous creature on this planet. Also doesn’t help that she’s a freaking stripper/prostitute. Yeppers….you heard me correctly.
Rax becomes fixed on Eve, and although she’s doing naughty things (some oh so naughty things, things I literally needed to YouTube to actually see if they could be done) you see the other side of Eve.
She has a sad side to her. Eve is alone, and only can rely on herself. I really feel for this beautiful girl. Eve’s life is not all warm and fuzzy but she is making it work. Using her looks and her killer body, she dances, and screws for money. Lots of money.
Now enter Rax. This shell of a man, drinking his life away. Him and Eve form a connection. Eve isn’t so sure of him in the beginning. But they are funny as hell together. Loving how Eve keeps calling him Rex.
“Not Rex. RAX. Like Braxton Hicks contractions. Except Rax. R-A-X. You ever been pregnant?”
Those two kill me. They form a really fucking HOT connection though. And for once, we see a different side to Rax. The vulnerable side, the hitting rock bottom side, the side where Rax actually wants this woman so bad he’s willing to clean up his act.
But his beautiful words of wooing are no match for Eve. It’s like Rax opens his mouth and you wanna melt because the most romantic things come from that brain of his….
“Only driving I plan on doing tonight involves my cock, your pussy, and maybe your ass if you’re game.”
See what I’m saying…fucking poetic. How can you not fall in love?? He had me at hello…or had me at cock…which ever…you see what I mean…
All kidding aside, Eve feels something for Rax that she’s never felt. When they are together, “…she feels. Passion, frustration.” Better than feeling nothing I suppose.
Even these two lost souls make a connection. And watching them actually do it, is amazing. For once Rax is showing emotion and it touches my heart. It actually breaks it a little.
“Everyone deserves happiness, Rax. Even the lowest of the low. Even us.”
I didn’t except this from him, but what I did except was his amazing stamina in the bedroom. You wanna know what its like get RAX’ed…..Oh well Eve gets RAX’ed all right. Oh and these sex scenes are some of my favorite. Because Kendall girl, you fucking rock it out!! My virgin ears. You’ll just have to read to get the good stuff.
Rax just says the most romantic things to Eve while he’s caressing her beautiful body…
“Goddamn it , Eve, your tits are like motherfucking Kryptonite. They make me weak.”
This is one journey of the hearts, minds, and souls you don’t want to miss. It will make you laugh your ass off, at times give you an anatomy lesson, and yes I cried. Eve’s story for me was a hard one. She goes through some crazy shit in this book.
I highly recommend this book and this whole entire series. Killer Buzz Float totally rocks it out..
Long live The Rock!

About Kendall Grey
Kendall Grey, word wrangler, whale warrior, wicked wench, and lover of tongue-tripping alliteration, was born without an off-switch between her brain and mouth. She’s been called the “Flux Capacitor of Twitter” (@kendallgrey1) and “A little package of love all wrapped up in F-word paper,” but she’s really just a maniacal writer relaying eyewitness accounts of the rave inside her head. She writes urban fantasy with strong romantic elements and also dabbles in erotica and horror on occasion.
Kendall lives off a dirt road near Atlanta, Georgia, but don’t hold that against her.
