I devoured this book in one sitting!! If I Were You (Inside Out Trilogy) has all the pieces I love for an erotic read. Does it have a dark side? Yes. Does it have a hot alpha male? Yes. Actually make that TWO. Does it have drama and heartbreak? Yes. Is it a book I would read again? OHHHHH YEA!!!!
I am going to warn you, if you do not like erotic romance this book isn’t for you. If you liked 50 Shades then read on!
Sara McMillan becomes the owner of a storage unit where she finds a stack of journals, that belonged to a woman named Rebecca. As she starts to read them, she becomes sucked into Rebecca’s life. Upon reading the last journal entry, she is determined to find Rebecca and ensure nothing tragic has happened to her. Sara is a self proclaimed “boring school-teacher”. She is naïve but yet knows something isn’t right, meek but willing to battle strong men, and is afraid to be who she really is.
Chris is the second male who is an artist. He seems almost sweet, caring, protective, but you can tell there is an edge there. Sara is drawn to Chris and their relationship moves in a different direction. She sees his dark side but can’t resist him, and he warns her repeatedly.
Both the relationships that Sara has with each of these alpha males are very unique, and every time that you think you have figured out a part of the mystery, you are lead in another direction. Sara is battling with just how much the journals are affecting her, both emotionally and sexually. The journals entries are very erotic and descriptive, and so is the sex! I will say the schmexy parts don’t really happen until towards the middle of the book, but when it does it is well worth the wait!
“I’m going to lick you all over before this night is over, Sara.” he says in a seductive purr. “Suck your nipples until your crazy with need, then spread you wide and lick you until you come and then I’m going to do it all over again. I’m going to make sure you are so thoroughly fucked that being fucked has a new meaning.”
Uh ok!! The dirty talk in this book is crazy hot!
