She is only nineteen.
She is his new stepfather’s daughter.
She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.
But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.
Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…
Blaire just may have fallen too far
I have never been shy to recommend my friends to anything written by Abbi Glines. She was one of my first post 50 Shades of Grey authors, and I crave and love all of her books. This was a series that completely took a hold of me.
Blaire Wynn is alone. She has just buried her mother next to her sister, and has had to sell her home to pay for all of the expenses. Blaire’s father left her and her mother 5 years ago when her sister died, and never looked back. She had no other options but to call and ask him to take her in since she no longer had a home. When she arrives at his new home, she definitely is not expecting what comes next.
Rush Finlay is the only son of the famous rock star from Slacker Demon and his mother is now married to Blaire’s father. He hates her father with a vengeance, and the home she is going to, Rush owns. When Blaire arrives her father is no where to be seen, he ran off to Paris for a vacation. Blaire meets Rush and wants him, he is captivating, but Rush is mean and cruel to her. He allows her to stay, only she has to stay in the bedroom under the stairs where the maid usually sleeps.
Blaire is strong, she doesn’t want pity or charity. She never asks for anything, and pays her own way. The relationship that she and Rush have is bizarre at first, he seems to hate her, but then is so sexually attracted it makes no sense. It is a constant push and pull.
“You don’t want to know me. You may think you do, but you don’t. I promise”
Finally the constant struggle between them is too much, and thank God for that because WOW does that fire become all consuming. Their relationship is so dynamic, but Blaire knows that Rush has secrets, and she is sure it will destroy them. Rush’s feelings for Blaire are so beyond what he ever thought possible, and he is finally ready to tell Blaire everything, but things never quite work that way for them. He is in love with her, but sometimes love just isn’t enough.
“You don’t have to love me, just don’t leave me.”
The ending is heartbreaking, I had tears streaming down my face. I felt every ounce of their pain, and I was devastated. Their final goodbye ripped my heart out!
“I didn’t get a goodbye with my sister or my mom. Those were final goodbyes I never got. This final goodbye I needed. This one time with no lies between us.”
Rush and Blaire’s story doesn’t end.. this is a trilogy and thank Abbi Glines for that because if it had ended this way I think people would be hunting her right now! I literally tell everyone about this series when they ask me what should they read. So go read this because you KNOW you want to know what the secret is, and then you don’t have to wait for the second book Never Too Far (Fallen Too Far) and guess what… “Forever too Far” is out June 10th so now you can read them all and be as in love with Rush and Blaire as I am!
