Something Wonderful is the continuation of Something Great by M. Clarke. I’m going to do something a bit different for this review. The book was a quadruple POV (mainly focusing on the female leads Jenna and Becky). We are told the stories of two different couples whose lives are intertwined. Jenna and Becky are best friends and Max and Matthew are brothers. I will first tell you about Matthew and Becky and then Max and Jenna. Enjoy!
Matthew and Becky
Matthew and Becky first met in Something Great, it’s needless to say that they do NOT like each other. Complete with food dumping and insults. This time around things will be different. At first, yes, there was still dislike (mostly from Becky towards Matthew) but then they somehow started this friendship that consisted of a lot of flirting,
“I would like to be your book boyfriend.”
It was actually really adorable how flustered Becky was around him. Previously we had know her as the go get ‘em, love ‘em and leave ‘em, sassy girl who took charge. Now it seems as though she is experiencing something a little bit more, the tables have turned.
“In that moment we connected at another level. In that moment, I had fallen a little bit deeper.” “Tonight he stole a bit more of my heart, though I had not wanted to give it to him.”
It doesn’t help that Matthew is super sexy and is becoming more and more irresistible by the minute. This boy knows what he is doing to poor “Becca”, as he calls her.
“OMG! Quivering from the way he just licked and slurped, while his drop-dead gorgeous eyes were glued to mine, it felt as though he was licking me instead of the cone.”
Both Matthew and Becky are fighting what is growing between them. Baggage from their pasts holds them back. What will it take for them to just open up and let things be, can they do this?
“She’s the only one who has given me hope. She makes me want to live again. She is my light at the end of the dark tunnel.”
Max and Jenna
We pick up with Max and Jenna where we left off, Jenna is recovering from her car accident. They are both recovering and getting back on track. Max is still one of the sweetest men out there.
“I’m going to show you that I can be worthy of you ever single day.”
The way he loves Jenna is amazing. The couple are still learning new things about each other as their relationship is still new. Jenna comes out of her shell a little bit more this time, she is becoming more and more comfortable with her sexual abilities, she let’s Max do some pretty amazing things.
“No one can hear you, babe. Scream louder for me”
But things aren’t always as they seem. Crystal is threatening to ruin everything Max and Jenna are working so hard to build. This bitch causes an unnecessary amount of grief and heartache. Things seem to come to the surface and shake Max and Jenna to the core.
“No one will ever love you as much as I love you. It’s not possible. I love you more than my own life. I would never hurt you.”
Jenna needs to work through some things, mainly her trust issues. Will she let this stand in their way? Can Jenna and Max get past all of this?
“He had torn me apart, but then put me back together with his love.”
Now we are anxiously awaiting the third book in this series Something Forever. It will be a long wait that is for sure!!!

It was the reason she had to write one-Something Great. Why the pen name, M Clarke? She tours with Magic Johnson Foundation to promote literacy and her children’s chapter book-No Bullies Allowed.
