My honeymoon was almost everything I dreamed it would be, a tropical paradise, turquoise water, romantic walks on the beach, and loads and loads of mind shattering sex. The only thing missing was the groom.
After seven years of coasting through a relationship with Michael, my senses were numb. A week of passion with a stranger was just what I needed to clear my head and take back control of my life. But how do you move on when the man that was only supposed to be a fling somehow seeps into your soul and steals your heart?
Holy mother of God was this book schmexy!! My weakness is a bossy business man and Jack sure fit the bill! This story had everything for me, a likeable heroine, a sexy man, and a whole lot of steam.
Sienna and Sydney are on Sydney’s honeymoon in Hawaii. Here is where I at first thought I bought the wrong book, but Syd was in an awful relationship for seven years with Michael, and instead of marrying him she took her best friend on her honeymoon. The trip was supposed to be a way to relax and move on. Sienna is determined to get Syndey back to who she once was, and back to the life she wanted so badly with her music. So she pushes her to use this trip to have a casual fling.
Jack Cole Heston is not your typical male character described as a “suit”. He is a successful businessman, strong, and a complete and total player, but he has NEVER been in a relationship he only sleeps with women. I almost spat my wine I was drinking when he tells you his “number”. He is in Hawaii for a guys bachelor trip and sees Syd at the bar, where they are both obviously sexually attracted to each other and he definitely fits what Syndey is looking for on this trip. Jack sets his sights on the blonde beauty and he always gets what he wants.
Sydney and Jack decide they are going to enjoy the short time having lots of hot sex. I loved that even though Syd is going to take this leap, she still wants to know a bit of the man outside of the bedroom. I laughed at their question game, and loved how they bantered and talked. Jack definitely surprised me with how well he treated her, almost like she was the only woman in the world, yet was so different in their sexcapades!
“I prefer whatever makes you yell louder when I fuck you harder than you’ve ever been fucked.”
Of course their trip is honestly magical, they spend time doing amazing things together. Jack shows her more consideration and romance in their few days together than Michael did in their entire relationship. I was completely in love with him, so no surprise that that Sydney fell for him. Plus with the things he said to her hell I don’t know many women who would not fall for him!
“If sharing what I enjoy with you is romantic, then I guess maybe I am. But it would only be you that would think it, because I’ve never shared anything more than my bed with other women.”
Time on the island must end and they say farewell. Had this been the end of the book I would be sending Vi Keeland an email crying that she broke my heart. However, knowing that I wasn’t 85% in I was giddy to continue on… They return and fate or a series of pretty comical situations force them to reunite. Jack though is not a relationship man, and Sydney knows this. She and Jack have to overcome their doubts and trust each other. Syndey knows that she really knows very little about his life and who he really is. She also has her own dreams and aspirations.
“Nothing is going on and you know it. You’re scared. And so the fuck am I.”
Will it break them? Does anyone ever truly Belong to You?
