Pepper Ryan grew up the troublesome, spoiled child of a rock god. With her less-than-stellar parentage, and the bipolar disorder that has plagued her existence, to say this little firecracker is a handful would be the understatement of the century.
Sammy Belle spent more than half his life saving Pepper. He’d been her strength, her sanity, and the protective brotherly figure she never wanted to have.
They were never meant to be together.
They gave in anyway.
And just when Sammy thought he had everything he wanted, Pepper ran.
Now twenty-three, Pepper returns to Sugartown, a failed tattoo artist with one too many screws loose who’s down on her luck, wielding an ice cream van as beaten up as her heart.
Sugartown’s most coveted bachelor has always been content with the quiet life he leads until Pepper, the hellion from his past, returns to test his strength, his patience, and perhaps even his sanity. But two can play at that game, and Pepper is about to learn that Sam can give as good as he gets.
Can this good country boy survive Pepper’s cruel city world, or will the whole thing be put down to a bout of temporary insanity?
One thing is for certain:
He’s crazy about her.
She’s just crazy.
Warning: Intended for an 18+ audience. Contains sexual content, oodles of profanity, a firefighter so hot you may need a very cold shower, and one pink-haired crazy Harajuku girl. May also contain traces of nuts. Some scenes within this book may be a trigger for certain readers.
The end of the Sugartown series. So bittersweet! I don’t want to say goodbye to all these characters who I completely adore. From Ana to Elijah, to Holly and Jack, and now Sammy and Pepper, not to mention the secondary characters I’ve grown to love as family, saying I’m sad to see this series end is an understatement.
Carmen Jenner created a magical place known as Sugartown. Tons of angst, laughter and sexy times. I couldn’t wait to dive in to see what Carmen had in store for us in the last book of the series.
We know Sammy as Ana’s little brother from Welcome to Sugartown. That little boy with the lisp who got an ear and eye-full of all that went on with Ana and Elijah. Well damn, he is all grown up now and insanely HOT!!!
“OH. MY. EXPLODING. OVARIES. I think I just came a little.”
YES!! That kind of hot!!
Pepper is Holly and her ex’s daughter and she too has grown up. She is one badass chick and her comebacks were classic! But behind her badassery, she is one broken girl.
She and Sammy grew up together, and as they got older, there was always a special connection. They had a strong friendship and Pepper always wanted something more.
Five years later, Pepper returns to town after running away from the life she always knew. We watch as they reconnect and God, there were so many emotional scenes in this one that I was a mess. Sammy wants to “fix” her, be her rock and make her better.
“Pepper Ryan-Harris-Rowe is a goddess and I’m the devastation she leaves in her wake. I always have been.”
In true Carmen style, there were so many HOT scenes and oh so intense moments. Now Leaving Sugartown was also heartbreaking and parts of the story hurt so bad, I had to take a few reading breaks.
I don’t want to leave Sugartown at all. I will miss this crew like crazy and I can’t thank Carmen enough for creating this series and giving me another family to love!!!
“Life in Sugartown will always be sweet.”
Ain’t that the truth!!

While Sugartown may not technically exist, Carmen grew up in a small Australian town just like it, and just like her characters, she always longed for something more. They didn’t have an Elijah Cade, though.
If they did, you can be sure she would have never left.
