The equations are
Piper Ashby + Brad Ashby = Twin Siblings
Brad Ashby + Tanner McCain = Best Friends
Piper Ashby + Tanner McCain = Off limits
Tanner and I abided by the rules. We stayed on our designated sides of the relationship circle.
Ignoring swarming butterflies.
Brushing off skipped heartbeats.
Settling on lingering stares.
Here’s the secret … a hand extended over that invisible line once, exponentially changing the equation. I was convinced we could make our relationship work until Tanner broke the trust he embedded in me from the age of seven.
One deceit of mega proportions and the relationship we built for that short month vanished. I swore never to speak to him again and it’s worked. Until now—two years later, when my brother’s wedding places me face-to-face with the best man—Tanner McCain.
Leaving one equation to be solved. Can love surface twice?
Can love surface twice? Good question. In Michelle Lynn’s new novel we wonder just that. Piper and Tanner are great friends, so are Tanner and Brad, Piper’s twin brother. The forbidden love story is always one of my favorites. And Michelle tells it so well.
In this story, Piper, Tanner and Brad all swim on a team for their school. I honestly loved reading and learning about the swim aspect of the story. It’s through swimming, and longtime friendships that these three bond. And it’s a very special friendship they all share. What made the characters and this story so likeable was how smart and competitive they are, and how serious they took this sport. Especially Piper. It became their lives; their futures. And in the end, would wind up being the most important part of who they become, and the mistakes they wind up making and eventually tearing each other apart.
The connection between Piper and Tanner is so evident and electric, and really enjoyed reading those scenes. They are both very smart and driven characters, which is why I LOVED them together. Piper is so honest and loyal. And for me, Tanner was a real catch; I was always Team Tan!
They both waited forever to get that chance to be together and when it actually happens, Tanner doesn’t take it lightly.
This story takes some twists and turns that I was not excepting which created that angst I look for. Not to mention the heart ache. What these two go through drove me bananas. I was addicted to this story, and read and read, and never stopped. I cried a few times, one particular scene which took me by surprise. But it’s because I was so invested in these character’s and their story, my heart ached for all of them.
I can’t tell you how happy and sad this story made me. I love Michelle’s writing, as always.
Piper and Tanner are a beautiful couple; well Tanner kind of takes your breath away because he’s loves her hard.
Must read this ladies!! Def Trish Mint Approved.
Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years
ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating
around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family
and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after
putting the kids to bed.
