Erin Upton is too embarrassed to tell the cops what she was really doing while her townhouse was burglarized, especially since the first officer on the scene is former nuisance next door Charlie Dwyer. Where’s the justice in the world when a neighborhood know-it-all grows up to be six-foot-three inches of solid muscle with gorgeous green eyes and a slow, sexy please-arrest-me-now-officer smile? It’s bad enough she’s wearing her robe and slippers—did he have to notice her fuzzy hand cuffs on the bathroom sink?
He’s arrogant as he ever was, which is fine by her—she’s too busy with her dance studio’s grand opening to make time for a man. But they keep crossing paths, and
when Charlie offers to help her put in new flooring at the studio one night, things go from hammering nails to hammering each other in a hurry. And about those hand cuffs…
They agree it’s a one-time thing. But when that becomes a two-time thing, then a three-time thing, Erin starts to wonder if maybe she and Charlie could be a life-time thing. Her best friends Mia and Coco found love in unexpected places. Is it finally her turn?
Having just finished Floored, I must say, I am super excited to write this review and tell you all how this book made me feel.
If you read the synopsis you know that Erin’s house is burglarized, and the HOT cop that comes to her aide is none other than the jerk kid who bullied her as a child. We all remember those annoying buggers growing up and probably wanted to secretly run into them as adults and trip them down a flight up stairs! Kidding. Not kidding. But for Erin, she unfortunately doesn’t have that issue. Her bully is HOT!!!! So imagine seeing this face when you open your door….
Yeah it doesn’t help that Charlie is a hot fucker!! And….he’s flirting with her.
Okay so let me start by saying that a good portion of this story is freaking hysterical. Not just funny ha ha. Not funny like I typed LOL and didn’t actually laugh out loud. Funny, like I “actually” laughed out loud and laughed again when I re read it for the second time. My god, Erin and her inner monologue are my new best friends. It’s so relatable. The things you want to say but never actually do. The naughty thoughts we have in our head but never actually act on them.
But once this fling gets started, WHOA….it doesn’t let up. Charlie and Erin have so much chemistry; and not just sexual chemistry. Their banter is hysterical, and was seriously entertaining.
“You still cold?” He picked his head up and looked down at me.
“Yes, in fact, I think I have hypothermia and I need mouth to mouth.” I trailed kisses along his jaw, which was starting to feel scratchy under my lips.
“You don’t give mouth to mouth for hypotermia.”
“Then I need a hot injection of some kind,” I said, laughing as I dug my fingers into his ass.
Charlie is hiding something and swears he’s not into the relationship thing; we don’t know why but he keeps his distance. Except for when he can’t keep his hands off Erin and he’s banging the snot out of her.
Is it possible to love and hate a man in one thought? I think so. That was my struggle with Charlie at one point. What’s sad is, he’s fighting the feelings he’s having for Erin. I almost feel bad for him.
I wanted to either punch him in the face or fuck his brains out!
Other than the whole hot cop thing, there is something about Charlie that I fell in love with. He’s so attentive to Erin. And caring. Not a man who wants his distance that’s for sure. And why would you want your distance from a woman like Erin.
She’s the package deal if you ask me. I loved her character to pieces. Erin is gorgeous; funny and smart too. She was a school teacher and decided to throw caution to the wind and go for her dream; opening a dance school and being a dance instructor. She lives alone and has great friends; Mia and Coco. (And the secondary characters in this story ROCK!!!!! )
But when things get cooking, trust me they heat up!! And Erin wants it. One thing I love about Erin, she does NOT hold back in the bedroom. He might talk dirty, but Erin gives as much as Charlie does. And THAT is hot as fuck!!
Omg these two are so sexually in tuned to each other I might weep. Yes, I wrote that.
You can’t help but swoon over Charlie. I hate using the word swoon. But I honestly haven’t “swooned” over a man like this in a long time. There are no games with Charlie. He tells it like it is; like it or not. He wants it, he takes it. Erin has no choice but to submit to him.
There are certain elements a book must have for me to 5 star it, and Floored as the key ones; lots of great dialog, long sex scenes which I love and great character development. So for that reason, this book is totally Trish Mint Approved and easily gets my 5 HOLLAS!!!
