From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a new novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.
Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.
For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover that Owen is keeping some major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.
The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…
I have a confession. I cried when I met Colleen Hoover. Like a baby. I had never connected to a book as much as I did when I read Slammed and Point of Retreat. Her words healed my heart in so many ways that when I met her, I completely broke down.
I have been a huge fan since the early days, and she is always #1 on my go to author list. Whenever I’m in a funk, I reread one of her books and I instantly feel better.
When I got the chance to read and review Confess, I did something I never do. I waited to read it. I wanted uninterrupted reading time where I didn’t have to stop and read during my breaks at work. So the weekend came and made sure I was free to just savor it. And savor it I did.
I cried while reading the prologue. When does that happen?!!! My emotions were all over the place and I literally couldn’t breath.
How Colleen comes up with these original, blow-your-mind ideas always just amazes me. I typically try to go into her books blind, wanting to be just taken by the story. I knew ahead of time when she wrote Maybe Someday that Griffin Peterson would be collaborating with her through music. This time I had heard that she was going to combine art. I was SHOCKED with how it was done. Like an intricate puzzle, it fit together perfectly. She asked for confessions from her readers and used those confessions throughout. It is real. It is raw. It is emotional. It is breathtaking.
People often ask me what my favorite COHO book is. I’ve always responded with, “I can’t choose a favorite. That’s like asking me which one of my children is my favorite. It’s impossible.” Colleen is always a six star +++++ read for me. Her talent knows no bounds and she never ceases to amaze me.
A story of love, lies, truths, confessions that will leave you breathless. I loved everything about it. I loved the characters, the storyline, Brilliant. The way the story comes full circle and how one person’s actions can effect another’s entire future, it’s so true to life and really makes you look at love and living in a completely different light.
