In this sequel to Wallbanger, the second book in the Cocktail series, fan favorites Caroline and Simon negotiate the rollercoaster of their new relationship while house-sitting in San Francisco.
Playing house was never so much fun—or so confusing. With her boss on her honeymoon, Caroline’s working crazy long hours to keep the interior design company running—especially since she’s also the lead designer for the renovation of a gorgeous old hotel on Sausalito. So with her hotshot photographer boyfriend gallivanting all over the world for his job, she and Simon are heavy-duty into “absence makes the heart grow fonder” mode. Neither has any complaints about the great reunion sex, though! Then Simon decides he’s tired of so much travelling, and he’s suddenly home more. A lot more. And wanting Caroline home more, too. Though their friends’ romantic lives provide plenty of welcome distraction, eventually Caroline and Simon have to sort their relationship out. Neither wants “out of sight, out of mind,” but can they create their own happy mid-ground cliché?
USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton delivers another delicious, frothy cocktail of a book, shaking up her characters, stirring in laugh-out-loud humor, and serving sizzling romance straight up!
Simon “Wallbanger” Parker and Caroline “Pink Nightie Girl” Reynolds are back at it again in Rusty Nailed, the equally sexy and hilarious sequel to Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. We have moved forward a year (don’t worry because the prologue will fill you in) and Simon and Caroline are still going strong. Simon still travels a lot and Caroline has been busy working for Jillian but when they are together…HOT DAMN!!!
I gave up all ownership of what was below my belly button when he bent me over the back of the sofa inside my apartment and removed my panties. With his teeth. With his mother-loving teeth! I can’t even!
And let’s not forget how much fun their friends all are! I nearly spat my drink when they were all playing Pictionary together one night. Seriously…these are the kinds of people that I want as friends
Caroline and Simon have a routine now that works well for them. It really is clear how much they love each other. They make the most of their time together….and it was soooooo sweet.
When you were in a long-distance relationship, of course you made the most of the time you were together. But sometimes, it was the unexpected that really made the difference. The unexpected emotions you were hit with when you saw that face, looked into those eyes, felt those lips. The unexpected reminder of why you fell in love with this person could hit you so powerfully. And this was that time.
They split their time between their apartments and Simon and Clive seem to be getting along really well. I love how Caroline categorizes him.
A man about town, a globetrotter, a secret cat whisperer who would sell his soul for an apple pie.
Little by little Simon seems to be home more often. He is taking it easy just as things get busy for Caroline at work. She really frustrated me sometimes with how annoyed she would get that he was home so much. You could see their relationship changing and developing, albeit in different ways at all times.
It amazed me at how understanding Simon was, even when Caroline didn’t tell him what was going on, he was there for her. And we know how Wallbanger does things…hey now…
Unrelenting. Unforgiving. Unbelievable. He took me hard, sexy, and wild. I cried out as I came all around him, my swollen flesh tender and responsive to his every move. His every plunge. Sparks burst behind my eyes, my entire body caught up as he thrust into me.
As things at work get so immensely busy, Caroline has so much responsibility and her stress is really showing. She and Simon are also house sitting for Jillian across the bridge and out of the city. Like I said Simon was around more and working less, he seemed to be settling into the suburban lifestyle just fine.
Rusty Nailed was a great follow up to Wallbanger. Can Simon and Caroline agree on what their future holds…do they both want the same things? This and so much more is explored in this story, and as I said….just and funny and HOT as the first!
