From #1 New York Times bestselling author Abbi Glines comes the next new adult novel in the Rosemary Beach series, in which we meet Mase, a Texas heartthrob first introduced in Take a Chance who comes to Rosemary Beach to stir things up.
I had an urge to fix all her problems. Which was stupid. She was doing fine without me. But something about those big eyes…
Mase Colt-Manning has always preferred his humble life as a Texas rancher to his birthright as the son of a legendary rock star. In fact, he rarely visits his father’s rarefied world in Rosemary Beach, especially if it means bunking at his vile half-sister Nan’s house—until one visit leads to a chance encounter with a young, gorgeous house maid who awakens him with her off-key but spirited imitation of a country music star…
Reese Ellis finally has her freedom. After escaping a lifetime of abuse from her parents and classmates for an undiagnosed learning disorder, she seizes the opportunity to be a house maid to some of the richest families in Rosemary Beach. But her job is in jeopardy when she causes an accident at the home of her most important client, Nan Dillon. When a hot, half-naked stranger with a cowboy’s swagger comes to her rescue, she’s intrigued—then afraid once he shows his own interest. Reese has never met a trustworthy man in her life. Will Mase be any different?
Here we are again with Book 11 of Abbi’s Rosemary Beach series. I honestly can’t get enough of these characters and with each new one she introduces I am always more intrigued to learn who they are. When Mase was introduced in Harlow and Grant’s story I knew he would be a great add to the series. I am not really a cowboy kinda gal, but Mase is sooooo different.
I absolutely fell in love with him. Hard to say that Abbi ever writes terrible hero’s. Mase is on the TOP of my list. Is it cliche’ to say he’s perfect? He kinda is. He’s a perfect southern gentlemen who loves his mama, and respects woman.
So when he first meets Reese he’s taken by her, and intrigued; curious. No secret that Reese is beautiful. But she’s different. Flawed in the most imperfect way. This is the part of the book where I connected big time. Reese’s learning disability is her undoing growing up. She has a terrible up bringing and parents from hell. Her mother gives two shits, and her step-father…well let’s just say he did a number on her. My heart goes out to this girl and more than once I cried for her. I automatically love her and want the best for her.
She’s so humble and cleans houses to makes ends me. That’s how she meets Mase….and the bitch Nan!
Mase and Reese actually have a great connection. Their story is one to love and cherish. It’s not like they fall instantly in love, which is refreshing as well. They really get to know each other and learn about one other.
And this is where you fall in love with Mase. He has this protective nature about him. And because he helps Reese with her insecurities, it really makes you fall to your knees.
Throughout this book I am soooo proud of Reese because she really does overcome so much. It’s a very inspirational story for any person with a disability such as hers.
And true to Abbi’s writing style, she always leaves a smile on my face. I so enjoy reading her stories. And meeting her characters, and loving the ways in which she chooses to tell us these tales of love, and hurt, and trust and commitment.
This particular story really stayed with me for more reasons than one.
The ending blew my freaking mind!!!! So needless to say, we NEED to have more of Mase and Reese!!
Such a great read, and definitely Trish Mint Approved.
