During the month of October, 100% of the proceeds from Tattoos and Tatas will be donated to breast cancer awareness.
Claire and Liz have always had a friendship that defied the test of time, but when one of them is diagnosed with a disease that every woman fears, their bond is put through the wringer. How do you cope knowing your soul mate could be taken from you?
Filled with memories of their life long friendship, inappropriate behavior, bad tattoos and shaving cats, the two friends will realize that laughter really is the best medicine.
Tattoos and TaTas is not your typical love story; it’s a story of friendship and learning how to let go when something is beyond your control.
You’re living your life, enjoying your family and friends, you’re happy. You have hope, dreams for the future—so many things to look forward to. Then bam, cancer strikes without a warning. The fact that Tara chose to write this book to raise breast cancer awareness makes her a rockstar in my book. We all know someone one who as been effected by this disease in someway or another and we can all agree that cancer sucks ass.
The gang from The Chocolate Lover’s series is all reunited and Tattoos and TaTas is told from Liz’s point of view. After learning that her best friend Claire has stage 2 breast cancer, she is shattered. Being a fixer at heart, she has no idea how to comfort her friend and all she wants to do is “fix her”.
“My best friend has cancer. Why can’t I feel anything? Why can’t I do anything?”
Liz is frozen. She can’t seem to find the right words to say, so she shuts off. She reminisces about so many times they shared and is terrified of not having Claire in her future.
“She’s my person, my other half. I care so much that it’s killing me right now not to be there for her, but I don’t know what to say and I don’t know what to do.”
This is a story about hope, love, laughter and friendship. The bumpy road that they all travel on with a prayers that a happily ever after is in their future. In usual Tara style, she brings laughter to the forefront in this story. Sometimes humor is the best medicine. At the end of the day, laughter can make an unbearable situation more bearable. Tara brought light to a serious subject, and threw in the perfect amount of hilarious moments into the mix. Great read!!
