Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
I was so excited when we got a request to be on the Wait for You blog tour for J. Lynn (Jennifer Armentrout). I read this book a few months back and it was a 5 star read then, and when I got to curl up with it again, since it had been so long since I read it, I fell back in love. I have read so many of J. Lynn’s books I have been a huge fan of her writing for so long. She has the ability to take you away from everything and feel like your living the book. I feel her characters in my heart, and Avery and Cameron are two of my favorites.
Avery, she has been through such a rough time. Having two parents who choose to not stand beside her for their own selfish reasons. I hate them. She attends college thousands of miles away to get a fresh start, to escape the pain of her past. She is a little quirky but I love that about her. She has a heart of gold, yet is so scared and you get why. I just wish she never had to go through any of the pain. Anyway, at her new school she starts to allow herself to make friends again, to be social. Brittany and Jacob crack me up!! I love them!!! So on her first day of official class she literally plows into Cameron…can we say awkward??
“Easy for you to say. You’re the one who got plowed. I was doing the plowing.”
Cameron, Cam is just ahhhh I don’t know schmexy. I swear in my head he is a mix of every hot guy you can think of. A little cocky, a little sweet, and a little rough. Oh and would I eat his cookies ;) Anyway, he is great. I just think he fit a true typical college guy. He is real and he is so great with Avery. He saves her in every way and I swear he is complete and total swoon worthy. Does he mess up? Yup. Does he give Avery things she never knew she was missing? Yup. He just makes me have faith for my daughter that maybe not every guy in college is a complete shit head.
“Its just a cookie sweetheart.”
Their story kept me engaged, and I loved every second. I was really excited to get to re-read it too!! I don’t really get to do that too often anymore. They find their way through some difficult obstacles in their path. Cam has his own set of demons and Avery we learn hers pretty early in the story. I just will say this, it is a story I am extremely excited I was able to read again! Considering how many books we read it better have been an amazing book, if I am going to pick it up again and Avery & Cam are better than good.
“You’re a good guy, Cam.”
“No, I’m not.” He exhaled deeply and his breath was warm against my check. “I’m only good with you.”
