Underground fighter Remington Tate is a mystery, even to himself. His mind is dark and light, complex and enlightening. At times his actions and moods are carefully measured, and at others, they spin out of control.
Through it all, there’s been one constant: wanting, needing, loving, and protecting Brooke Dumas. This is his story; from the first moment he laid eyes on her and knew, without a doubt, she would be the realest thing he’s ever had to fight for.
All I can say about the 3rd book of this series, is WOW WOW WOW!! This book was absolutely amazeballs, I really cannot say this enough. This may be my favorite in the series so far. I loved how Katy had Remy’s POV in the past and present tense. I was in such happy tears at the complete intensity of Remy’s feelings for Brooke from the beginning of this series.
“There will be hundreds of days in my life that I won’t remember. But this is one day that I will never forget. Today I marry my wife. Brooke ‘Little Firecracker’ Dumas. I promised her a church wedding. And a church wedding is what she’ll get.”
During the present time in which Remy and Brooke are both getting ready for their wedding, the book then steers back to the beginning of “Real” in Remy’s POV, where Brooke and Remy first meet at Remy’s fight.
“Your name,’ I growl. Her wrist is tiny in my hand, fragile, but I’m not about to let it go. Oh no. ‘It’s Brooke Dumas,’ a voice behind me says, and then the crazy friend who was with her throws off a number, which my idiot brain doesn’t grasp, for I’m still hung up on her name. ‘Brooke Dumas,’ I say gruffly out loud, slow and deep, my tongue twisting around the name as I savor it. Such a strong, classy fucking name.”
We then breeze through Remy’s POV looking through his eyes in the book “Mine” as well and I thought it was beyond amazing again!!! The depth at which Remy’s feelings for Brooke are abso-fuckin-amazing to me! Remy states,
“All mine. I’m not letting anyone take her. I’m not letting her go. I’m her Real. She’s Mine.”
And guess what us readers get to experience a second time which skeeved the hell outta me the first time but the second time as well, the part where Scorpion sends a box full of scorpions and Brooke opens it, causing her to be bitten all over her body….YUCK. Do you know how many nightmares I had about this when I first read “Mine”, well let’s just say a hell of a lot!!!! But again, Remy moves heaven and earth to comfort Brooke during an insane situation.
“I got you,’ I passionately hiss as I wipe her tears, squeezing her to me. ‘I got you. I got you.’ If I lose her, it’s over for me. I’m done.”
Remy and Brooke eventually get married in front of everyone that loves and supports them, which made me cry like a complete blubbering lunatic and I can only hope that Katy Evans continues with this series because you know what, it is so astounding and will forever be read by me over and over and over again!!! Kudos to you Katy, another book that was absolute perfection for me.
