Liam Lockwood stumbled across a photo in a magazine of his long-forgotten brother causing buried secrets, heartache and obsession to bubble to the surface. When Liam sees something he wants, he takes it. He always has and this time will be no different despite his father’s warning.
Payback for a dark and broken childhood now has a name, Nora Robertson.
Wow….this is what I was waiting for. The aftermath of The Tutor. Haven’t read it? Well hop to it and then get back here, The Brother is the continuation of Nora’s story, one which you truly need to understand and slowly take it. The Brother takes us on a different journey, although less complicated and voiced through less POVs it’s just as enthralling as The Tutor.
Nora has come out of this stronger than we could have hoped for, although she stills struggles daily, and who can blame her. I envy her in this book. She fights for what she believes in, doesn’t let people tell her that her feelings are wrong and she is trying to take care of herself the best way she knows how. When a not so chance encounter drops her into Liam Lockwood’s arms, the game is on yet again.
Liam Lockwood is trouble. A weakness in a attractive package, with a good sense of humor.
He certainly is trouble. I couldn’t figure him out, he wants so many things and can’t seem to make up his mind between revenge and lust. Liam takes things slow, then fast, then backs off completely. He confused me as much as he confused Nora. You will want to hate him because of his motives and his unseen actions, but he really is a smooth talker and is hard to resist.
She is gasoline and I am a match.
^^^This you will find to be very true, these two light it up when they get together in their unconventional ways. They are both honest about their needs and up front about their fantasies which was intriguing to me, we don’t see that very often.
As things progress I wondered where it was going to unravel….when would Nora break down, when would Liam let things slip. Then you have to figure in Eve and Lotte to the whole situation and the complication grows. But then there is a normalcy to all of this, an odd quiet normalcy that you can accept.
Things cannot be this…normal. There is always something lurking in the shadows.
And just remember that little tip….always something lurking.
