Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion-dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?
He’ll tell you he has the flu.
But we all know that’s not really true.
Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful, and ambitious. She refuses to let anything—or anyone—derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, and his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?
Can Drew Evans win at love?
Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing in life he never wanted is the only thing he can’t live without.
This book is effing hilarious and HOT! Two adjectives I probably would have never believed I would put together to describe a book that is #1 on the Erotica charts. Imagine I am on my cruise (sans husband) for a girls trip, and I review romance novels right? So I am reading this panty melting book at 2 am and trying to control my giggle burst because Holy shit this is so funny!!! But then next it’s full on blow your mind schmex!! I seriously enjoyed this book; any erotic romance that you can laugh out loud while reading and then be turned on in the next paragraph is an exhilarating book to read. I cannot honestly name another book that was like this! Drew and Kate’s relationship was one of the more realistic stories too. No out of reach billionaire with a naïve virgin who is going to learn it all from him. Also it was refreshing to have an ending, no CLIFFHANGER!! A M E N!! I cannot wait to read more by this author; she has definitely been bumped up on my list of favorite authors!
The book is written from Drew’s point of view, but he is literally speaking to you. He has a downright comical relationship with his sister Alexandra “The Bitch” and I love his relationship with his niece Mackenzie. Drew likes uncomplicated sex, he “never rides the same roller-coaster twice” (being inside his head is hysterical). He is a successful businessman and is extremely hot. The story starts off with Drew having “the flu” and you learn why he is actually sick. Let’s just say it is not the flu.
Drew meets Kate at a bar and wants her, however she refuses him. She is engaged and once she realizes who he is and who he works for, she says no and walks away. Drew is in for a shock when he goes to meet the new employee and its none other than Kate.
Kate is smart, witty, beautiful, and boy can she dish it! I LOVE that she is not weak, she stands up to Drew in business and every other way. They have to work together and neither want to cross that line, however both are extremely attracted to each other.
However, circumstances happen, and they finally can ease their sexual tension. The sex is crazy hot!! I think part of what makes it so freaking amazing is that you’re in HIS head. Its not third person it is Drew telling you how she feels and he feels.
“Edward Cullen can take his stupid heroin and OD on it. Kate is my own personal brand of Viagra.”
OH!! My favorite quote from his crazy long list of advice he offers for women:
“Just so you know, men don’t expect a woman to smell like Winter Pine or Niagara Falls or whatever the fuck those feminine products say. It’s a pussy-it’s supposed to smell like one. That’s the fucking turn on”
