A novella follow-up to When It Rains.
The last few years have been my best and my worst. Now I’m learning to move on after my greatest heartbreak of all.
I’m in college with the guy I’ve loved since I was just a kid, but when two people have the history we do, there are always obstacles to overcome. They say love conquers all, and it’s time to find out how true that really is.
There’s life after the heartbreak and pain, but will it be what I’ve always dreamed of?
So, I put off reading After the Rain for far too long. After the ugly crying I did with When It Rains I just wasn’t sure that I could handle it. I can now say that I am so thrilled that I finally bumped this us, and I will tell you I cried again however, it was more happy tears than anything else.
After the Rain takes us over the course of a year. We begin when Kate goes to find Beau to tell him that they will be going to college together and thus their relationship begins. Beau is so gentle and understanding with Kate, he knows what she has been through and he doesn’t want to lose her.
“Just for the record, I would have been your rebound guy too. I just wouldn’t have let you go because you’re my forever girl.”
As their relationship develops Kate begins to be more comfortable in groups situations, Beau had given up the party scene for her because she didn’t like it…too many bad memories. He gives Kate the time and space she needs to sort through her feelings and all of their emotions.
I really liked reading about the next chapter of their lives together. This was the perfect ending for Kate’s story, Asher helped her heal so that she could be with Beau and lead a happy life.
“I love you more than I love life, because if it weren’t for you, there wouldn’t be as much in it for me.”
