You know how sometimes, your high school crush grows up to be an insanely famous movie star? Okay, probably not. But I do.~Layla Warren
Back in high school, Trip Wiley’s fanbase only encompassed the denizens of the nothing little suburb of Norman, New Jersey.
Ten years later, all that is about to change.
In the summer of 2000, Layla Warren is enjoying her career as a journalist in New York City (well, sort of), while Trip spends most of his time grabbing Hollywood by the balls. In the days before what will turn out to be his skyrocketing fame, they’ll find themselves confronted with some life-altering choices.
Remember When 2 is the second story in an NA romance trilogy. It will bring you back to that exuberant and riotous time of life in your twenties when you struggled to figure out your place in the world and the person you were meant to be…
…and the person you were meant to be with.
**Intended for ages 18+ due to some questionable language and sex.**
Alright, so we now begin in the year 2000, almost 10 years after Trip and Layla break up and Layla moves to New York to go to college. Trip at this point is at the top of his game and has been in a ton of movies. Throughout this 10 year gap, Trip and Layla no longer keep in touch with each other. They did for quite a few years in the beginning but eventually life got in the way. Layla is a copywriter for Now! which is an insert in one of New York’s newspapers. She recently got engaged to her 2-year so-called boyfriend, Devin, aka her boss at work, who is a complete downer but a “safe” guy, I guess you can call him. Devin barely knows any of Layla’s friends or family, because he is always at conferences or whatever the hell he does. Her life is dull; I guess you can say because she always compares all of her boyfriends and lovers to her first love, Trip Wilmington, or as we now know him now in the film industry as Trip Whiley.
Anyway, forward a little in the book and Layla finds out that Trip in the city filming near where she works and lives. Layla convinces her boss/fiancée, Devin that she wants to write a story on the hottest actor in the now, Trip. Layla goes to Trip’s hotel (I know, I thought the same thing, hotel + those two= no bueno) to interview him for the article and low and behold he is ecstatic to hear and see her.
“He is looking at me intensely, those deadly blue eyes boring right through me, seeing into my soul like no one but him ever has. It makes him look even more worldly than usual, this golden god between my legs, and I find myself in awe, yet again, that this man is mine for the taking.”
They end up having some crazy ass kiss that leaves them both wanting more of each other, but both of them realize it is wrong because they are both engaged. “Yes, I have been fortunate to meet a few lovely, beautiful women out on the west coast. They’re not Jersey girls, of course, but then again, few of them are. And, uh, I just recently became engaged.” Yes, you heard me, Trip is engaged now to a Victoria Secret model, yup a frickin’ Victoria Secret model because he is just that damn hot and yummy. Come to find out though through this meeting, they are both really unhappy. I guess I would be too if I were hot, famous and dating a model…NOT!!!
Anyways, they both start seeing each other and wanting more of each other but they never push the envelope too far. In the end, they almost bang but Layla realizes it’s not a good time in both of their lives and it would be like cheating…..Ummm, yeah, it is cheating if you are with someone else!!!! Trip wants to get rid of that pesky Victoria Secret model but Layla won’t give up the dull ass fiancée. Trip gives her a choice to be with him or don’t. Well, she finally wises her ass up and wants to go after him to Cali where he, but is it too late AGAIN!!!!
“The hurt hit me then, the positively earth-shaking, soul-shredding ache that overtook every fiber of my being and collapsed my trembling body to a crumpled heap on the floor.”
Crap, now I want to read book 3 because I am so damn antsy and want to keep reading to find out what the hell happens next. “Remember When” is so ADDICTING, I think I may need some help after finishing the 2nd book now. I am in a book hangover and I need the next installment people!!!
