The first book in a sensational New Adult trilogy from Noelle August
Welcome to Boomerang.com, the dating site for the millennial gen with its no-fuss, no-commitments matchups, and where work is steamier than any random hook-up
Mia Galliano is an aspiring filmmaker. Ethan Vance has just played his last game as a collegiate soccer star. They’re sharp, hungry for success, and they share a secret.
Last night, Ethan and Mia met at a bar, and, well . . . one thing led to another, which led to them waking up the next morning—together. Things turned awkward in a hurry when they found themselves sharing a post hookup taxi . . . to the same place: Boomerang headquarters.
What began as a powerful connection between them is treated to a cold shower courtesy of two major complications. First, Boomerang has a strict policy against co-worker dating. And second, they’re now competitors for only one job at the end of summer.
As their internships come to an end, will they manage to keep their eyes on the future and their hands off each other, or will the pull of attraction put them right back where they started?
Roxie and Jen’s Review
Don’t you just love those books that are like finding a diamond in the rough? After hearing about Boomerang from Megan over at Reading Books Like a Boss, I immediately grabbed and Roxie and I did our usually buddy read.
The whole time we were glued to our kindles and couldn’t put it down. This book came out 2 years ago and I have no clue how we hadn’t heard of it prior to Megan’s recommendation.
There are books you read and enjoy, then there are books that swallow you up and you are completely immersed in the writing, the characters, the plot. That’s how we felt with Boomerang.
The writing was absolutely fantastic, the characters were believable and the story was perfect from start to finish. We have to say that it is one of our favorites of the year.
We meet Mia and Ethan who had an incredible “one night stand” that neither of them can seem to recall. The attraction is CRAZY and they both part wondering if they’ll ever see each other again.
Fate has other plans when the two wind up interning together at Boomerang, a virtual dating site company, where they will compete for the SAME JOB. Worst of all, the company has a no fraternizing policy, leaving Ethan and Mia realizing that their attraction and draw to each other cannot go any further—their chance of any kind of future plans are thwarted.
“We both have a great opportunity at Boomerang. I don’t want to jeopardize that. For either of us.”
We follow the pair as they navigate through their competition hoping there can be more than one winner in the end. Sometimes the things you want aren’t the things you need and fate has a way with screwing up how things are going to turn out in the end.
“…I want the kind of love that feels like an arrow snapping from a bow—sharp, inevitable, soaring.”
This was a brilliant NA story—hot sexy tension, two beloved main characters, and supporting characters that you will absolutely fall in love with. The writers used California as a back drop, with trips to Colorado and Las Vegas as well. We felt as if we were with the characters as the writers described the character’s surroundings as if we were there right along with them.
We absolutely loved Boomerang and only wish we had discovered this writing duo sooner. Lucky for us, there are two additional books in the series that we will be diving into as soon as possible.
“Do you chase dreams, or do you actually catch them? ”
So trust us when we tell you that with all the books sitting on your TBR, this one should be added to the top. You will fall in love with Ethan, and Mia too 😉, and you’ll be adding this to your top favorite of 2016!!! LOVED IT!!!
About Noelle August
NOELLE AUGUST is an anagram for Veronica Rossi and Lorin Oberweger. Just kidding, it’s a pen name!
VERONICA ROSSI is the author of the New York Times Best-selling UNDER THE NEVER SKY trilogy for young adults. The books are available in more than thirty countries and the film rights have been optioned by Warner Bros.
Veronica completed undergraduate studies at UCLA and lives in Northern California with her husband and two sons. She is fond of dresses with pockets, fluffy dogs, and cheese and chocolate — but not together.
LORIN OBERWEGER began her storytelling career by captivating her first-grade class with tales of her summers on a kibbutz in Israel.
Lorin had never been to Israel.
While teacher/parent night put an end to her first experiments in fiction, she’d already caught the bug and eventually made a career of all things story.
As a long-time independent editor and story development guru, Lorin’s client successes range from small press publications to major bestselling novels. She’s an award-winning author and has also worked behind the scenes as a ghostwriter on a variety of projects. Her work has received starred Kirkus reviews and glowing mentions in The New York Times.
Oh, she did get to see a kibbutz, eventually, and found out she had it pretty much right all along.
Veronica and Lorin met at a writing workshop and just knew they were destined to create awesome things together.
