A man driven by his desires.
Tyler Moore is considered cold, ruthless, and determined to get everything he wants. CEO of a flourishing oil company, he thrives on order and never gives up control to anyone.
The woman from his past.
Monique Delome has left her unhappy past behind to pursue her dream of becoming a writer. Love is something she believes is better suited to the pages of her novels and not meant for real life.
Whether in the boardroom or the bedroom, Tyler Moore is always in charge. But when Monique Delome walks back into his life, everything changes. A successful romance author, all the sexy leading men Monique writes about strangely remind everyone of Tyler. Intrigued, Tyler sets out to seduce the one woman he could never forget. Soon Tyler gets more than he bargained for, and his grip on his well-ordered life is turned upside down.
Tyler Moore is about to find out what happens when a romantic tale jumps from the pages and comes to life between the sheets.
Cover to Covers is an interesting story or past loves being reunited over twenty years later.
“Tyler let her walk away in the rain and for years he had regretted that decision. He never saw her again..until today.”
Tyler Moore, the controlling business man, CEO of his stepfather’s oil company. The man is relentless…in his early fifties and going strong. He has everything he could need: money, power, women…but was it enough?
“It was just mindless sex. The same kind he felt like he had been having for years with a bunch of different women, Why had he never noticed before how empty their kisses had been?”
It takes running into Monique Delome, his college sweetheart, the one that got away, to realize how empty and meaningless his relationships have been.d She is everything he remembers but also so much more. Moe has made a name for herself in the romance industry. She is a well known author and has quite a successful career. Moe even has many loyal fans.
After a chance meeting, Tyler decides he needs to know more about Monique. What has she been doing all of these years. In an effort to do so Tyler picks up not just one but several of her novels and reads them all. Forgetting about his work obligations for an evening he immerses himself in her world.
“From the confident swagger, good look, and deep-set brown eyes, Tyler recognized himself. He had been astounded to see various elements of his personality incorporated into each of the characters…from gestures, to his love of steak, even his former affinity for bourbon.”
Whoa, hold up….could she really be writing about him? Well then, the subconscious speaks for itself now doesn’t it. Not quite, Moe still isn’t sold on the fact that Tyler is back in her life (sort of). When they see each other again she tells it like it is.
“It must be so hard for you, being such an asshole all the time. No wonder you need to get away.”
However, could she really be able to resist this man?
“It’s not like you haven’t done this before Moe,”
“I just haven’t done it with you.”
She rested her hands on his wide chest.
“With you, I still feel like I”m that twenty year old virgin.”
Tyler and Monique begin to rekindle what they had. He puts forth great efforts to show her how he feels and that things have changed. He helps her see a different side of him and helps her appreciate sex again.
“I like talking about sex, and it never makes me uncomfortable. I want to please you in every way, Moe, so don’t be afraid to tell me when you don’t like something, or when I don’t satisfy you, all right?”
Their time together was amazing. Monique takes him around New Orleans, showing him all of her favorite things, the reasons why she has always loved the city. (Alexandrea Weis did an excellent job painting a picture of the city, she makes you feel like you are there walking the streets with them and taking it all in.) It was fun to see Tyler relaxing, he seemed to be learning about himself as he learned about Moe’s life today. The feelings that were starting to come through the surface I think scared them both, Tyler had never truly been in love or been happy before. I hated how he thought he wasn’t what she needed.
“Please don’t love me, Moe. I’m not worth the effort.”
Moe tries to adjust, can they make this happen. As a writer she has the ability to say such beautiful things, she can express herself in such way that you stop and think “yes, that makes complete sense”.
“Being happy is not a gift; it’s an innate ability that you have to fight to hold on to. It’s part of you. It’s the weld that holds your souls together. Ignoring it doesn’t make the yearning for it go away.”
What is it going to take for Moe and Tyler to be happy? Two grown adults with a past together as well as apart. I wanted him to see what he had to do to make this right, make this work. Tyler knew how he was feeling, he just couldn’t face what he had to do.
“The concept of spending the rest of his life with her was so comforting that it scared him to death. Could another person fill such a gaping void in him, or was he just getting old?”
