I’m writing this letter because it’s highly doubtful I’ll ever garner the courage to say this to your face.
So, here goes.
We’re totally wrong for each other. You’re the proper single mum with a good head on your shoulders. I’m just the carefree British doctor passing through town and temporarily living in your converted garage until I head back to England.
But here’s the thing… for some bloody reason, I can’t stop thinking about you in very inappropriate ways.
I want you.
The only reason I’m even admitting all of this to you right now is because I don’t believe it’s one-sided. I notice your eyes when you look at me, too. And as crass as I appear when we’re joking around about sex, my attraction to you is not a joke.
So, what’s the purpose of this note? I guess it’s a reminder that we’re adults, that sex is healthy and natural, and that you can find me just through the door past the kitchen. More specifically, it’s to let you know that I’m leaving said door cracked open from now on in case you’d like to visit me in the middle of the night sometime.
No questions asked.
Think about it.
Whatever you choose.
It’s doubtful I’ll even end up sliding this letter under your door anyway.
Simon and Bridget are my new favorite couple, hell favorite people, in recent months. I should be sleeping after working at 3am but I came home from work and HAD to finish this book and now I HAVE to get my thoughts down ASAP!
Simon and Bridget meet under unexpected circumstances, you will be hooked from this first interaction. You’ll be able to appreciate this after you read the book…
More than the tip is in your arse, and it looks like it’s got a long shaft.
From what you will learn about them you will think that they are just not meant to be. Their lives and future plans are so opposite form one another it just doesn’t seem like it can work. The attraction between them is however undeniable. Simon can’t resist the sweet and caring and sexy woman in front of him and Bridget can’t resist the charm that gets laid on her quite often.
Simon, you fucking charmer, you.
They start off as friends and they say and do the funniest things. The ease of their relationship is not something you will have to worry about. The things that come out of Simon’s mouth will make you laugh and maybe even blush a little.
You’re welcome to climb me, luv, but be careful, some trees have thick wooden branches ad you could get poked.
The maturity of their relationship is something that I absolutely loved in this story. They are both thinkers and have good heads on their shoulders. While yes she may want to climb him like a tree, Bridget thinks about the consequences and weighs her options carefully, thinking about everyone involved. Simon is the same, he looks at the big picture which is something I truly respect. There is of course that Schmexy fave involved in this book….mature angst. Heart stopping gut wrenching realizations that are handled in such a caring and loving way….I legit cried both sad and happy tears while reading!
There’s someone else I have to mention. Their mutual friend Calliope, she might just be the BFF we are all looking for. She is Simon’s voice of reason and gives him some solid advice on more than one occasion.
“Not wanting love to happen doesn’t make it not happen, Simon.”
“A home isn’t a bunch of bricks. A home is your happy place.”
Words to live and breathe by if you ask me! I can’t wait for you to meet these two!
