They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?
Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.
Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.
Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend…and a big one to learn about himself.
Warning: contains sexual situations, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.
Jen and Roxie’s Review
We loved, loved, loved Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series. We were looking forward to her collaboration with Sarina Bowen. This was the first M/M book for both of us—and we have to tell you guys, getting our cherry popped by Wes and Jamie was an amazing experience.
Wes and Jamie meet at a hockey summer camp in Lake Placid when they were young. It’s something they look forward to every year. They have a great friendship that they keep up all year through snail mail.
Wes always knew that he had strong feelings for Jamie—feelings he tried so hard to push to the side because Jamie’s friendship was so important to him.
“I’m still gay—and he’s still straight. Even worse, I’m still in love with him.”
Fast forward to the last summer before they heading of to college and one drunken night things get a little interesting, boundaries are pushed…It takes them 4 years to meet again—Jamie needs answers, and Wes lives with guilt and regrets about that night.
Wes is already out to his friends and family but still struggles because of his chosen profession and his parents’ lack of acceptance about his sexuality. Jamie has always loved women—and never has a problem finding one to warm his bed. So when he begins to develop “more than friends” feelings for his best friend, Wes can’t be sure if it’s just for fun, if he’s just exploring his sexuality, or if it’s more.
Wes: “Want you,” I whisper. Lately, those two words define me.
Jamie: “Have me,” he says.
We loved this story sooo much. The chemistry between these two was off the charts and the emotional aspect made us completely swoon. To see Wes and Jamie’s relationship develop in to something more really had us fall head over heals. Rox completely fell for Jamie as the story progressed. He owned her heart. Jen loved both and couldn’t pick a favorite.
“I’m just drifting on my own happiness. I lead a big life, and it’s a hell of a ride. But there aren’t many moments like this. I want to bottle it and carry it everywhere I go.” -Wes
This is a story of falling in love with your best friend—a story of love knowing no boundaries. A story of two people willing to take a risk to explore the unknown because your heart is leading… This book was super hot and steamy as Wes and Jaime discover each other little by little.
Another great one by Elle Kennedy and we can’t wait for more books by her and now we’re off to discover more books Sarina Bowen. They put a story together that is flawless, will make you swoon, oh so hot and will tug at your heartstrings. It really is a perfect combination.
