Ten years ago we said goodbye.
I left the world I knew to create a new life for myself. Away from the lies. Away from the pain.
It was all going as planned until a friend asked for help with her club. The business was liberating. The company was intoxicating.
Two masked men became my euphoria. One was a player deep in the game. A teacher both intimately and figuratively.
The other was a quiet director. A man who tempted me with his stares and set me on fire with his dark whispers.
His secrecy excited me, bringing me to levels I’ve never imagined. I thought we were playing a game, but little did I know he knew exactly who I was.
I just wish I figured out his true identity before I fell for his best friend.
* Falling Into the Black is a standalone novel with an HEA.
Falling Into the Black caught me by surprise. From the synopsis you could just tell that there would be a ton of angst, something us Schmexy girls really love. I didn’t expect my heart to get as involved as it did. Long lost love, secrets, second chances, secret sex club, masked schmexy times, I could keep going on and on.
Evangeline, aka Angie has past she is hiding from, we get that almost right away. She doesn’t want anyone to know where she is and she has made a new life for herself. Angie is strong and independent, making her way and heading to law school. I liked her right away, she tells it like it is and is not afraid to be herself, well, the new her that is. You can feel her hurt when she talks about her past and how she views herself in the present…
The blue eyes staring back at me are from that same girl who fell in love with a boy in the back of a pick-up truck. But the soul being them is older, wiser…scarred.
We don’t know what she has been through for awhile and we can only assume and speculate. While we try to figure it out, Angie does some exploration at her friends club…yes THAT kind of club. Let me tell you, we all need to do some research and find a place like the ones we read about.
We meet Maverick and his friend who Angie refers to as Secret, now knowing who either of them really are. These two are easy on the eyes and smooth operators for sure. What you will experience throughout this story is angst, secrets, history, futures…it all winds together and keeps you guessing.
Carter and Cole are our two guys…both are special in their own ways and you will fall for them both. They are both career oriented, caring, fun etc etc. Oh, and they are hot…just sayin’ you might want to keep that in mind. They both have a different connection with Angie and you will just have to discover it for yourself….
I might actually be falling for this guy.
^^^hmmmmm who do you think she is talking about?? Only one way to find out! Grab Falling Into the Black today!
