Dominic Salvatore seemingly has everything a man could want. He’s found a new relationship with his father and the entire Montgomery family. His vineyard, Cuppa di Vita, is a success. There’s only one thing that eludes him: a certain driven, intelligent, and sexy as hell blonde named Alecia.
Alecia works tirelessly building her event planning business. It’s the most important part of her life. Despite the beautiful, lavish weddings she organizes, Alecia is convinced that the idea of true love is a myth. While Dominic is a sexy, intriguing man, welcoming the handsome Italian into her bed, and her life, is a risk she’s not so sure she’s willing to take.
However Dominic isn’t used to taking no for an answer, and it’s not long before these two are burning up the sheets and discovering a connection that neither can deny. But will it be strong enough to last forever?
“I’m going to eventually make you understand how amazing you are, tesoro.” – Dominic Salvatore
This is a bitter sweet review for me. Because its the last review I will write in Kristen Proby’s With Me in Seattle series. It’s no secret this is my favorite series to read, and re read. Considering Forever With Me is the last installment, my expectations were high for this one. Proby has never disappointed in the past, but the pressure to deliver Dominic’s story was on. Dominic being the new found Montgomery brother, the hot Italian that just showed up in Safe With Me out of nowhere, took us ALL by surprise. Not gonna lie, I was sketchy about him at first. He definitely grew on me in Breathe With Me, Mark and Meredith’s story. And now we conclude with Dominic and Alecia. Alecia being the resident party planner and friend of the Montgomery and Williams family.
Every time I start a new book in this series, I get all excited, curl up on the couch, tuck my feet under my legs, get my glass of wine, or cup of coffee, and dive in. This book was no different.
After learning about Dominic and then meeting him, the Montgomery’s were intrigued and dying to know more about him and how he grew up. You learned very little in the other books, only that he owns a vineyard. Aside from being devastatingly handsome, which we knew would happen because let’s face it, he’s a Montgomery, we come to find out that Dom is just so kind. And he’s worldly, and educated; thoughtful. Romantic. Sooo romantic. He’s a gentleman. Okay that’s the nice side. Yes, Dominic has two sides.
His second side is reserved for Alecia’s eyes only. This beautiful Italian man, with dark skin and gorgeous blue eyes has been pining for our Alecia for some time. And when he finally gets her where he wants her, he takes her. Dom is like a lion stalking his prey. The way in which he approaches Alecia and strokes his fingers across the nape of her neck, and brushes his lips on hers. OH Bella!!! Dominic may be a lion stalking his prey, but trust me, he’s the kindest lion in the den.
And Alecia…Well this is one thing I love about Proby; she writes such beautiful, smart, colorful and strong heroines. And Alecia is no different. She owns her own company and does a bang up job running it too. She’s no-nonsense, hardworking, determined. And totally not trying to fall in love. Dominic throws a wrench in her whole system and turns her life upside down.
This love story was one that budded just at the right time. Nothing was rushed, at all. Everything just happened as it should. It was like Proby took this story, and held it in her hands, and ever so gently laid the words onto a piece of paper, and said, POOF!! Let me create the most romantic story I’ll ever write.
I was pretty much falling apart at the seams as I read. One scene comes to mind; I’ll never forget it because it was the first time I cried reading this book. It was just Dom and Alecia getting to know each other. Just his words alone, and the way in which he was connecting with her, had tears rolling down my cheeks. That was when I actually fell in love with Dominic Salvatore.
It’s hard to explain what this book did to me. My insides melted as I watched this beautiful love story unfold. But it’s not just Dom and Alecia that I looked forward to reading about. We can’t forget about the “Gang”. Again, another reason why I get so excited to read this series. Because the “Gang” is freaking hysterical. You WANT to hang at a Montgomery BBQ. You WANT to have Jules and Nat as your besties. Jules and Nat get the award for “Best Tag Team”. FOR SHO!! I laughed my ass off because their dialog is classic!! And you get ALL of the Gang in this book; they all get equal TV time. Sam and her sarcasm; Nate, he just can’t control his woman, but why would you want to, her mouth is dirty and HOT!! Will and Meg. God I love that man!! This is why I LOVE this series. It’s like watching an episode of Friends, except there is WAY more of them. Lifestyle’s of the Rich, Famous, Insanely HOT and givers of multiple O’s, HOLLA!!!
What’s great about this book, is that you get it all. You get the beautiful love story, the classic funny Montgomery moments. AND…you get the tears. I wanted to be strong and read through this without breaking down. But lo and behold, I broke. The ugly cry happened. But you know what, it was a happy cry. Because this book was so tastefully written. When Dominic spoke Italian you melted; and when he spoke of his native land; the vineyard and his family, you felt like you were there with him. This book is Proby’s BEST writing, hands down. The sex in this book was RIDIC!! I mean, the loving making was intense, the dirty talk, in Italian no less. Plenty of monumental moments that brought me to tears and made my chest tighten with emotion.
As far as the ending is concerned, I would say I was more than satisfied. Proby could have given us a Seinfeld ending, and left us wanting more. Or she could have given us the Friends ending. Where you are left fully sated and crying your eye balls out. She went with Friends. #BestEpilogueEVER
I knew it! I knew Proby would pull it off. She had too! I cried so freaking hard, I had to stop reading. It was because I knew the very last words were coming. But, the last words were just the words I needed to hear.
This series brought me happiness, joy, made me cry at times, made me hot in places I won’t speak of, made me fall in love with fictional characters. It’s everything to me, and for so many other readers. Kristen left us with 8 amazing books to cherish; 8 amazing and memorable stories.
Hands down a 6 star book, a 6 star series. 6 HOLLAS. This is MINT APPROVED.
