Her story began long before she started working at The Sky Launch…Screw fairytales. The only reward Gwen Anders got from her rough childhood was a thick skin and hard heart. She’s content with her daily grind managing a top NYC nightclub—Eighty-Eighth Floor. So hers isn’t a happily ever after. She doesn’t believe in those anyway.
Then she meets J.C. The rich, smooth talking playboy is the sexiest thing that Gwen has ever encountered, but she’s not interested in a night-in-shining latex. But when a family tragedy pushes her to the brink, it’s J.C. who’s there to teach her a new method of survival, one based on following primal urges and desires. His no-strings-attached lessons require her to abandon her constant need for control. Her carefully built walls are obliterated. Gwen discovers there’s a beautiful world outside her prison. Freedom is exhilarating—and terrifying. When she starts to feel something for J.C., she fears for her heart. Especially as she realizes that he has secrets of his own. Secrets that don’t want to set him free. BOOK ONE OF TWO. This series can be read alone or with the Fixed Trilogy.
Let me start by saying Laurelin Paige is one of my go-to authors. So for me, I of course expect a stellar story!! And shocker, she delivers and then some. This is one of my favorites and already have read this twice since it’s release.
Chapter 1 starts off with a freaking blast; it’s insane! She jumps right in and we meet JC, and I am already HOT for him! He’s quite the enigma. Gwen, who we know from Forever With You, meets JC for the first time.
Gwen manages the Sky Launch Night Club and JC has a standing room on Tuesday nights. And the things that go on in this room. Gwen is both appalled and turned on. We didn’t get much of her in the Fixed Series so I wasn’t sure what to make of her. But I’ll say this, I love her! She’s strong, confident as fuck, and takes no prisoners with her striking look and her blonde hair!
And JC…well, he’s just a sight to see. From the very first chapter I was hooked! This book takes off right away. And immediately I knew I was going to LOVE this book!! Of course the story sells itself, but more so, it’s Laurelin’s writing. She knows when to take you to bed and tease you, then turn you on, and all at once change it up and make your heart beat fast and jaw drops!
I do NOT want to give a thing away about this story, I will just say Gwen is very closed off, and needs JC to loosen her up…to live a little…What’s refreshing is how Laurelin shows Gwen’s transformation throughout this story. JC is bringing out the best in her. I went from questioning JC to straight up falling in love with him. I hate that word swoon, but I honestly have to use it. I was swooning.
This story takes many twists and turns. Laurelin leaves us constantly wondering and trying to figure out what the hell is going on. At times, my heart was broken, my chest hurt and I felt for Gwen. Damn, what a turn of events!!! The misunderstandings, the discussions that needed to happen and didn’t….the freaking angst that had me reading fast and non stop.
Did I mention the sex that goes on is just ridic!!! JC can give it to Gwen good. But aside from that, he makes you fall in love.
And my god the tears. God I love JC. And that last chapter….The dialog had me fucking dying inside!!! Dying!!! My goodness, I was like WHAT???? I mean WHAT?? Dude I NEED Find Me like NOW!!!
Ladies, without a doubt, this is a must read! By all means, click that purchase link! Laurelin continues to out do herself with every new story. The Love Affair of Gwen and JC is one I will always remember.
5 LOUD HOLLAS and 5 beautiful Stars!

About the Author
Laurelin Paige is the NY Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of the Fixed Trilogy. She’s a sucker for a good romance and gets giddy anytime there’s kissing, much to the embarrassment of her three daughters. Her husband doesn’t seem to complain, however. When she isn’t reading or writing sexy stories, she’s probably singing, watching Mad Men and the Walking Dead, or dreaming of Adam Levine.
