His touch spirals through me, warm and sweet, wicked and hot. I shouldn’t trust him. I shouldn’t tell him my secrets. But how do I not when he is the reason I breathe? He is what I need.
At the young age of eighteen, tragedy and a dark secret force Lara to flee all she has known and loves to start a new life. Now years later, with a new identity as Amy, she’s finally dared to believe she is forgotten–even if she cannot forget. But just when she lets down her guard, the ghosts of her past are quick to punish her, forcing her back on the run.
On a plane, struggling to face the devastation of losing everything again and starting over, Amy meets Liam Stone, a darkly entrancing recluse billionaire, who is also a brilliant, and famous, prodigy architect. A man who knows what he wants and goes after it. And what he wants is Amy. Refusing to take “no” as an answer, he sweeps her into a passionate affair, pushing her to her erotic limits. He wants to possess her. He makes her want to be possessed. Liam demands everything from her, accepting nothing less. But what if she is too devastated by tragedy to know when he wants more than she should give? And what if there is more to Liam than meets the eyes?
I know that this book was genred into New Adult, but I am not totally sure that is the case. I assure you this book is panty melting HOT! I LOVED the Inside Out series, and was extremely anxious to read Escaping Reality. This book BLEW. MY. MIND!! Lisa Renee Jones has a great way of putting erotic romance, suspense, and thrillers all into one book.
Escaping Reality starts off that something has happened in Lara’s life to force her to have to become Amy. Amy is smart, beautiful, but has been living in fear of whatever is hunting her. She receives a note telling her that her identity has been compromised and she must assume a new identity. There is a protector out there and he provides her with things to keep her safe. On her way to her new location she meets Liam Stone.
Liam is well, fucking amazing!! I instantly loved him, he is hot, rich, intelligent, and protective of Amy. It is as though he knows her, even though she really doesn’t know herself. He pushes Amy’s boundaries in every way, forcing her to trust him.
“He makes me feel I don’t have to hold the world up on my own.”
They arrive in Amy’s new location and you can sense that things aren’t right. She is nervous, and she keeps fighting her conflicting feelings that something is out of place. Liam is there to keep her safe though, he makes sure she has safety. He also ensures that she is very happy in the romance department.
“Lick it. Yes. Please. Promise”
My heart broke for Amy. She is alone and feels as though she always has to be. The fear that her past is going to affect more people in her life is what forces her to keep pushing Liam away. However, Liam doesn’t take “no” for an answer and he sure as shit doesn’t allow Amy to run away from him.
“You have this deer-in-the headlights look sometimes that I’m sure means you’re going to run. Run to me, Amy, not from me.”
Again… I. LOVE. LIAM! Things start to come together for Amy, and she is piecing together the puzzle that doesn’t fit correct. Lisa Renee Jones is known for her kindle throwing endings. This one is no different. This is definitely not a horrible cliffhanger, but one leaving me ready for the next book… commence my twitter stalking for book two!
On a side note, my name is Amy and I don’t know if because Liam was the epitome of my book GOD, but I felt like he was talking to me and this book ROCKED MY WORLD!
