Roxie and Jen’s Review
Some books you read, some you devour, and some you finish and they remain in your hearts forever.
Jen won’t deny that she was late to the More Than series party. A trusted book friend told her that this series was a must, so she hopped all over it and read the first 3 books all in a row. Actually, she should say she devoured them. Jen fell in love with Jay’s characters and her writing. Roxie been a fan girl from the start, impatiently waiting for updates and info on the gang !!! After reading book 4, Lucy and Cam’s story, God, we couldn’t stop thinking about them. While we had no idea what to expect with book 5, there was a certain undeniable anticipation. We went in completely blind. We paid no attention to teasers or spoilers, because we wanted to experience this one.
And boy oh boy, what an experience it was. We have to say, the first part of the book was a little slow for us, but once we hit the second half, WOW. We were completely blown away.
“I feel like I’m the sky and the earth is reality. And the horizon… it’s just the sky and the earth appearing to touch, but they never do. I want to touch reality, Dylan. I want to live in it. I want to feel like I’m here… in this world, and not just floating around it. And if I’ve learned anything… it’s that life’s too short, and now matter how much it’s hurts, it’s better than the alternative.”
We laughed, we cried, and our heart physically hurt. You can’t help but fall in love with Jay’s characters and her brilliant way of telling a story. It’s like watching a movie on the big screen. You feel as if you’re “there” watching it all unfold. You grow so attached to the characters and it’s impossible to move on from them.
“I’ll make it happen… Just not in our dreams. In reality. We’ll drive toward the calm of the horizon until you feel like you’re touching the earth. And we can stay there. I’ll show you our reality. Just you and me. And it’ll be perfect. You’ll see.”
Jay never disappoints, Dylan’s story was unexpected yet an undeniable perfect journey as we said goodbye to the gang one last time. We’ve been there from the start till the end and as the last Operation Mayhem concludes, we are saying a bittersweet farewell with happy hearts and big smile on our faces!!!
