Four years ago, my dreams were shattered in an instant.
I tried to pick up the pieces and glue them back together the best I knew how, but something was always missing.
A father for my two girls.
But then, Brody Murphy landed on my doorstep, literally. He was a carefree, playful hockey player who barged into my life and messed with my head. He left me more confused than I had ever been.
What if the one thing I thought I needed was the only thing holding me back?
Room for you came as a recommendation from my fellow Schmexy girl. She’s knows what I like to read, and clearly this book was right up my alley. Loved this book so much I couldn’t wait to tell you all about.
This story follows Kacie and Brody. Kacie lives with her mother and two adorable twin daughters. They own and run the Cranberry Inn, a cozy Bed and Breakfast. One would think Kacie is so lucky and has everything. Well she is lucky because her daughters are her life, but she is lonely and missing love in her life. What Kacie doesn’t have is a father for her girls. He left them, and crushed Kacie’s heart. This girl just breaks my heart. So young, and she’s doing it all alone. She is so busy raising her kids she doesn’t have time for dating and having fun in her life. What I love about Kacie is that she’s strong. And her daughters keep her going; she’s such a good mother.
Now we have Brody AWWW Brody! This freakin HOTTER than HOT professional hockey player. Yep that’s right. He is no joke. He literally end up on Kacie’s door step. His truck is stuck in the mud, and its raining cats and dogs. So he stays the night at their inn. And then its on…
Brody is too good to be true. Aside from the fact that he’s drop dead gorgeous and Kacie can’t even take his holy hotness, he’s kind; he has dimples that you could lick off his cheeks.
Brody is so taken by Kacie, when its time for him to leave the Inn and return home he decides he can’t get enough of her and he makes his way back for another weekend. And spends some quality time with Kacie, and her daughters. I mean come ladies, who does that?? He’s including her two little girls; playing and tossing them around. He fucking gave them nicknames; his Twinkies!! OMG!! I love this man!!!
These two forms a quick bond, and you definitely feel it. Kacie feels it. Its this pull, this tension as she explains it. Unfortunately she hasn’t felt this alive since her ex Zach, the ARSE who broke her heart and shattered her dreams and left her alone. Every time she speaks of Zach, a sadness rolls off her shoulders. Nobody should have to go through that. Yet, Kacie moves forward, determined to make a life for her children and have somebody there for them as a real father should.
Brody needs her to let go, and finally have fun in her life and not take it so damn seriously.
“Your own happiness isn’t a priority?” Brody looked at me with wide, shocked eyes. “Wow. That’s incredible. How will your girls ever be happy if you aren’t?
“I don’t know. I never really thought about that,” I said quietly.
“Well, how about this…how about you let me come back up here in a week and show you a good time? Show you how fun life can be?”
That’s my man Brody. I love this boy! He’s not your typical professional hockey player looking to have a good time, go out on the road, meet girls. Nope not him. He’s a family boy. But Kacie is not convinced and jumps to conclusions, not giving this a chance. She’s afraid to take that leap of faith. Oh I wish she would.
This…thing, whatever it was, had no chance of going anywhere special; we were too different. My relationship with Brody had an expiration date, and I was doing my best not to look at the calendar and just live in the moment.
This girl is killing me. Open your eyes!! He loves you to pieces, he adores you and your daughters. They fall in love and it fucking beautiful. Their story is just captivating, and heart warming and sad. So fucking sad!! It breaks your heart to see them both ripped to shreds over this. She is so damn stubborn.
Kacie just listens to the wrong people and doesn’t take things at face value. Brody has to fight for what he wants. and he wants Kacie, and her two little girls.
I fall in love with you every single time I watch you interact with Lucy and Piper. The love you feel for them is so vast and overwhelming its absolutely amazes me. I sometimes wonder if there’s room in your heart for me too, but then we’re alone…and its there. Whatever it is, it hangs in the air between us, so fucking thick I can hardly breathe
Dude after reading that I can’t fucking breathe.
I swear this is when the book gets angsty for me. I love the hearts and flowers trust me. But this…its sort of heart wrenching at times.
There is so much more to this story. So many twists and turns. You have to read it, to see their love story. So many little things put together that makes this book such a great read. And the best part is, we get more of Kacie and Brody in Book 2! SOON!! HOLLA!! I am all over that!!!
