Love is strange. It comes out of nowhere. There’s no logic to it. It’s not methodical. It’s not scientific. It’s pure emotion and passion. And emotion and passion can be dangerous because they fuel love…and hate.
I’m now a reluctant connoisseur of both—an expert through immersion. I know them intimately.
When I fell in love with Miranda, it was swift and blind. She was the person I’d elevated to mythical status in my head, in my dreams.
Here’s the thing about dreams, they’re smoke.
They’re spun as thoughts until they become something we think we want. Something we think we need.
That was Miranda. She was smoke.
I thought I wanted her. I thought I needed her.
Over time reality crept in and slowly dissected and disemboweled my dreams like a predator, leaving behind a rotting carcass.
Reality can be a fierce bitch.
So can Miranda.
And I can be a fool…
who believes in dreams.
Note from the author: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is recommended for mature audiences only.
Sometimes you come across an author that just blows your mind. You feel her words in your bones, they swell your heart and the magic between the pages just never leave you. Ms. Holden has a gift. A special gift that she so eloquently shares with us. She is able to create some of the most amazing characters that we have read about. In Bright Side and Gus we fell madly in love with them, how could you not?! And now we have So Much More, and well, it’s just that…So. Much. More. This time around, not only did we LOVE some of the characters we also felt a very strong hatred toward one. THAT was something that we did NOT expect from this book.
There were moments in the story that Jen and Roxie would message Jesey (she read it first) screaming, yelling, and freaking the hell out. We all wanted to throw our kindles out the window and give them a good stomping. But that is the sign of a fantastic book, one that has you emotionally fueled and completely invested in the characters and their stories.
Kim has this way of showing us the good in people, the positive, the loving, the “I need to hug you because you’re just so awesome” in each and every person. We have so much that we want to say about Seamus, Faith and Miranda. And then there’s Hope and Mrs. L. and of course Kai, Rory & Kira. But we’re not going to, So Much More is a story that you need to experience on your own. It’s not an ugly cry (although Jen did cry a few times) or a laugh out loud story….it’s real life, especially one that we felt we could relate to in certain aspects, mainly our parental point of views.
“Life blooms in second chances.”
A journey, that’s what Kim Holden has given us. Self discovery through pain and suffering. There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel, but you have to dig through that tunnel first…that is what we’ve taken from this story. You live and learn and always come out the better for it in the end.

About Kim Holden
Some of my favorite things: reading, writing, the two coolest guys on the planet (my husband and son), my bicycle (my husband built it for me), Facebook (I’m fairly certain it’s an addiction at this point), iced coffee (hazelnut), and music (LOVE the 1975, Dredg, the xx, Haim, Teenage Bottlerocket, and 30 Seconds to Mars). I also love dreaming, which brings me to my next point. I have one bit of advice for anyone reading this … follow your dreams. It’s never too late. Get started today … heck get started RIGHT NOW! I wanted to write a book 20 years ago. Instead I waited. And waited. I should’ve been writing. But I didn’t. I don’t do regrets, because the past is just that, the past. But let me tell you there’s nothing in the world like achieving something you’ve dreamt about for years and years. So, get started. Make your dreams reality.
