After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him.
Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.
But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.
With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything – Scout’s love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he’s never been able to overcome. The secret he’s never shared with anyone.
He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he’s hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.
The Catch was a home run!! Perfect conclusion to Scout’s and Easton story.
I loved this duet by K. Bromberg. It has everything I look for in a romance book. Interesting plot, great chemistry and heat.
The Catch picks up right were we left of in The Player and while some of the events quickly unfold, other things don’t get answered till later.
I’m not retelling the plot because you need to read the book!!! But I’ll tell you what I loved.
I loved how both characters grew through the story. They were both struggling with issues when they met. They both believed that their lives are perfect, but as they let each other in, they quickly realized that is not the case. Scout & Easton complement each other. I adored how they helped each other through what life threw at them and changed and grew through it all. Together they face a lot in this book, angst level is high as they weather the storm and together they became stronger. Their love is truly tested over and over again as the story unfolds.
Scout was always strong and independent. Having her find her softer side and fall in love and still be herself made her a perfect heroine. I loved her fiery side that comes out in this book.
Easton had so much thrown at him, betrayal after betrayal mixed in with his own secrets kept the plot interesting till the very end. And while at times I wanted to smack his hard head (winky face), at the same time I understood where his distrust and the need to problem solve alone came from.
They both took time to open up and completely let the other one in and when they finally did, it was glorious.
“Sometimes things happen in life that at the time seem one way, but in reality it’s the magic recharging so you can find it again.”
The Catch was a lot more fast paced for me, filled with twists and turns that I did not see coming.
It’s always bittersweet to say goodbye to characters you fall in love with. But at the same time, when they overcome so much and become stronger together and you read the epilogue that will leave you with a smile on your face you can turn the last page with a full heart.
