I got the call. The dreaded call every child fears. My dad wasn’t well, and the man who had always been my everything needed me.
There was only one thing to do; pack up and head back to my hometown. I had finally made my dream life in the city with the great job and loving boyfriend. But was there really a choice not to go?
I found a wonderful job, a quaint house to rent, my boyfriend was working on joining me in Binghamton, and my favorite pizza place was only miles away. Life was good.
Until I met my neighbor.
It’s been three years since I’d seen Aaron Walters, and my God is he all kinds of sexy gorgeous. Figures. He was supposed to be my forever, the man I grew old with, but he had different plans. How can a man who ripped my heart apart still trip me up? How can he make me still want him now more than ever?
I’m tempted, I’m drawn toward him, I’m completely and utterly unaware that I’m dating his biological brother.
Now two men own my heart. The question is, which brother will I choose?
Second. Chance. Romance?? Yes, freaking, PLEASE!!! Ok so you all know that I am a huge Meghan Quinn fan, I mean how can you NOT be? I almost want to not like one of her books, just to say to myself “haha, see she’s not all that hot” Well, this is not the book that did that. The Other Brother was such an amazing story that has brought me yet another book boyfriend, Aaron is mine, I shall keep him forever.
Ok, let me get to the point here. This is Aaron’s story, you may know him as “Smalls” from previous books. He is huge, physically and emotionally, he is larger than life. There are so many wonderful things about him that I never realized before. Not that we knew him that well, but it goes to show that first impressions aren’t always right. Aaron is a man who is kind and patient, enjoys decorating his yard for holidays, lives surrounded by elderly people and enjoys singing and dancing to “It’s Raining Men”. You can’t not like him, it’s impossible. But yet, he is not perfect. In the past he has made mistakes, hurt the one woman he has always loved.
“He hurt me. He broke me. He cracked my soul.”
“This woman scooped me up from the hollowed life I was living an shied me what love really is.”
So let me now tell you a little bit about Amelia. Love her. She is sweet, sassy, funny, extremely sexy and confident, loyal, family oriented, again…nothing to not like about her. She is a wreck of emotions when we meet her, uprooting her life to be closer to her dad, moving away from her boyfriend, only to be put in an extremely awkward living situation in her home town.
I want to be over him. I want to be able to breathe when around him, not hold my breath wondering if he’ll kiss me one more time.
Ugh, these two. The slow, the familiar, the reminiscing. Each and every aspect of this story was well placed. The bits and pieces of their past told through flashbacks wove in perfectly with where they are today. We learn about their beginning, their middle and their end. We get the live version of the new Aaron and Amelia, learning about each other in the here and now, the changes they have made and the ways that they have stayed the same.
I wasn’t the man capable of walking beside you. Not then.
Will he be now? Wouldn’t you like to know, you will just have to read to find out how this all ends up! I can tell you that your heart will hurt, it will melt, and it will swell with love and pride!
